The first Wave follow up semester in 2010 is finishing two days ago. The last several weeks were great and I'm sure that it will be good to repeat similar program every year. During the summer Wave will have some activities in Tuzla and a group of Wave participants will attend ROM gathering in Fuzine. From September 20th we will start full program in Tuzla again. During the summer months Wave team members will have activities in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Poland, Bulgaria and England. So, it'll be a busy and a good summer.
The trip to Zvornik (border of Bosnia and Serbia) was a great experience. We had rain the whole day, so after the trip to Zvornik we continued our program in Tuzla. This year we had only participants from level 4 and 2 persons who were at Wave Program for the first time. In the future, it'll be good to have all 4 levels at this trip. Of course, we'll have to organize transportation by bus.
The lecture that prof. Meic Pearse held in Tuzla as a part of the Wave Program was excellent! He was speaking about differences, negative and positive sides of education systems in the East and the West. We are so encouraged with feedback from our participants that we realized that in the future we'll invite more speakers and organize regular lectures as part of our program. The most guests and our participants attending the last lecture were university students and it is encouraging for us to continue working with the university students in Tuzla. In Serbia we already have a developedcooperation with EUS (IFES) in Subotica, so we'll try to organize similar program in Serbia too. The time after class was very good and we had a long discussion with a group of students. We are planning to have prof. Pearse as part of our program in November again when we're planning also to invite the Tuzla mayor to attend the lecture.
